Personality: Determined individual, driven to keep his crew and ship safe. Sees the ends as, sometimes, more important than the means. Highly defensive of humanity.

History:
Raised by a single military father on a science vessel, it always seemed that he would follow suit and join Starfleet. After graduating from the academy and climbing the ranks quickly, he ran into a problem as First Officer. The only way to Ensure the safe return of a number of the crew who were incognito on a world with an early industrial society was to break the Prime Directive, and send in a task force to retrieve the crew, and mark anyone who might have seen the heist. A number of the away team were injured, including the captain. Once the crew was safely retrieved and on board, those who are injured taken to sick bay, he had the marked natives teleported directly to the vacuum of space, to eliminate all knowledge of the foreign invaders. While Starfleet command was thankful for the saving of human lives and the fact that the young society would not know of their visit, they found the method used was barbaric, and his commission was stripped.
Soon thereafter, Section 31 contacted him. They sweet talked him into accepting a commission there, and he sweet talked them into offering him a captaincy.
